Emptiness

It's like the streets are empty
Even when people are there
I can't enjoy the amazing tastes
That I once used to crave
Everything seems so insipid
Is it a farewell I need to bid?
To something that makes me cringe
But I don't even know what that is
My mind's too numb to think
The cloudy sky looks so dull
I wish the rain could wash it all
So I could find my own muse
And paint a whole new picture
Filled with bright, vibrant colors
That are invisible to me right now
Or maybe draw an amazing sketch
Make my world black and white
Whose grace would elate every soul
That witnesses my masterpiece
The streets will never be empty again
I will fill them with amazing people
Sharing my bliss with everyone
How incredibly euphoric that will feel
Everything will be making sense
Nothing will be out anyone's reach
That Xanadu will be one to last forever
I can’t wait for the rain to come
I have to get up and take a step
Grab as many hands as I can
And run like there is no tomorrow
To the place where the rain is waiting
To turn my whole life around
